"Nestessity is the Mother of Invention"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey

If I have it, and you need it, I will give it to you.
That is how I live.
But there are times that I may not have what you need.
What to do? First, pray! Second, put legs on that prayer.

Every town on planet earth has, "a community of women"
who know how to pray-through any problem.
They are filled with the power of God. Ask them to pray.
I promise you the answer will come, and soon.

Randall & I had no furniture

when we married, except a twin bed.
We were in college, had part time jobs, & little money.
We rented a little white cottage for $65.00 a month.

It was built about 1920, and so beautiful.

A living room, big kitchen with a "Nook,"
2 bedrooms, 1 bath with a big claw foot tub.
 A front and back yard,
flower beds, porches, and lots of windows.
The vintage kitchen had an old roundy stove, and fridge.

With not one penny, to buy any extra's,

What's a "Bride" to do?
I found a sturdy "Windsor" chair in the back yard.
Randall replaced 2 missing dowels, sanded it,
and I painted it olive green.

The next day he found a huge wooden telephone spool,

on the side of the road.
Striped, sanded, painted... good to go.

Working at a yardage store,  enabled me to purchase

a quality remnant for 75 cents.
I sewed a round tablecloth,
and hurried to put it on the spool-table. Perfect fit!

Placing the
"Round Table" in the corner of the living room, sparked my hope of actually having a real living room.
Positioning  the rescued "Windsor," chair beside the spool table, made me even more excited!
I flew to kitchen to get great-uncle Kenneth's wedding gift.
A glorious Silver Tea Service, we were so proud of.
It was the finishing touch.
I sat the "Windsor"chair beside the table. Wow!

Free spool-table, 50 cents for paint, 75 cents for tablecloth, free chair, free labor, all in olive green of course.

Priceless memories of the first weeks of marriage.

All because of prayer with a bunch of girlfriends
who like me didn't have money,
but were filled with the something much finer, the creative
Spirit of God!
