"Gutsy & Gussied Up," what does it mean? The old
kings English, it is not.
It is however, the old cowboy language. "Gutsy"= Strong! "Gussied Up"= Dressed Up!
It does not mean "Girls gone wild," being rude, or snobby.

A "Gutsy," woman keeps on going. When knocked down, she gets back on the horse.
When "Backbitten" she stays focused, her soft skin tough as alligator hide.
Nothing KEEPS a gutsy girl down for long. She is like a "Tennessee Walking Horse," gracefully high stepping over a broken past.
Determined to finish the race, with her head held high, eye's on "Jesus!"

A gutsy girl also knows how to "Gussy Up."
Primp, dress, doll up, put a new coat of paint on the old barn, etc,
whatever size she wears.
It's in our DNA code, in all cultures. We can't help it.
As far back as history can go, we find relics of cosmetic use, mirrors, and jewelry.
We need all the help we can get, compared to the "cowboy."
He is the lion with a mane, the red cardinal (females are gray).
He is bigger, stronger, and let's face it girls, he is magnificent.
If the inside "cowgirl" is plain, no amount of outward beauty will help.
All of us know someone who may not have a great face & body,
but we all want what they have.
The "It" girl!
We also know girls who have it all on the outside,
are filled with self hatred, & never able to be happy.
