"The Christmas Star"

The thrill of happiness sneaks up on me,
as I prepare our long held family traditions.
Tenderly unwrapping
"The Star,"
purchased at "Woolworth's" five generations back.
I place it on the top of the tree.
Grandma passed it down to my Dad,
her son, who has passed it down to me.
I too will give it to my children.
As I look at my grandchildren who have never seen a "Woolworth's" 5 and 10, I know times have changed.
I am encouraged that the traditions for the most part,
bring the same "heart" to this generation.
They love the same Christmas songs, stories, & traditions. They are "Us."
As time goes by, "Christmas" is still
the most beloved season of the year.
May we all cherish each and every second
we are together this season,
and hold fast to our time honored family
treasures & traditions.
