"Little Evangelista"
"Walkie, Talkie, Living Doll!"

This picture was taken soon after you started "Kindergarden!"
In "Germany!"

You performed  your first "Solo," at 3 years old, and have been singing everyday since.

Thank you Kendra, for the times you traveled all over
with Mommy and Daddy, doing "God's," work.

Having been to almost every state in the U.S.A. and 17 Countries,
by the age of 5 years old.
You have always loved to travel.
What a brave little princess you were.

Do you remember the night we were driving to our motel in "Delaware,"
and a state trooper  pulled us over.
He walked to the drivers side and flashed his light
on Daddy, me, then you, in full Raggedy regalia.
He almost jumped out of his skin.
His reaction was priceless.
"I can't give you a ticket "Raggedy Reverend."
My 3 kids have been in your "Kids Krusade," every night,
and they would never forgive me.

You had to sleep with your coat on, in Scotland, some churches had no heat.
We just cuddled.
There were times we slept on the floor, and in the car.
 It was an adventure.
After dragging you all over creation,
you never complained and have always had a "passion for God!"

"Thank You!"

"The Princess and the Country Boy"
"A Historical Romance Novel"
Part I
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey

Based on The Old Testament I Samuel Chapter 8

We want a king like all the other countries. Up to this time "Israel was a "theocracy."
There is a very tall, brilliant, young man, who is strong in his faith and purpose.
He is loyal, with a noble bearing.
He looks perfect.
Samuel knows he is the chosen one.
Samuel anoints him.

"SAUL"
KING OF ISRAEL

He was the first King of Israel!

King Saul was also a husband and father.
He was so handsome, of course his children were as well.
His son "Prince Jonathan," had his Father's looks, and a tender heart.
His daughter "Princess Michal," had her Father wrapped around her little finger.

Her Royal Highness Princess Michal

She was radiantly beautiful.
She knew who and what she was.
Unlike some young women who think they are so fine, and have nothing to be conceited about,
she had plenty for the other girls to be jealous of. And they were.

Born with a silver spoon in her rosebud mouth, she still had a reverence for the things of "God."
Somehow she followed, the passion and instruction of her "Father."
The King had very special dreams for her. He had great pride in his little princess.

As the years passed, "Israel," grew.
The children of the the King, were now in their late teens.
While "Michal," the teenage princess, played, and shopped,
the King and her brothers were off fighting a war.
She was concerned, and prayed for them everyday.

She noticed her Father had a heavy heart much of the time lately.

Saul had been a great King. But a drastic change was coming.
Up to this point, the "First King," loved and obeyed "God!"
"Israel" not only survived, it flourished into,
 "A Holy Nation!"
"A Godly Super Power."

King Saul and the nation were blessed for one reason.
Reverence and obedience to "God."
As he marked off each specification on God's checklist,
he saw on a daily basis who was really in control.
It wasn't him. It was "God!"

At some point, "God's anointed First King," began to take the blessings for granted.

Another battle required his immediate attention.
As in times past he followed the Holy checklist, but suddenly
King Saul deviated from God's instructions.
He mixed it up.
"I know what I"m doing!"
He would help "God," out and do it even better.
Do it his way.
The man who once, had to be dragged out of hiding, to be anointed "First King,"
was full of pride.

King Saul
pulled the anointed cover from off his broad shoulders.
He would never feel it's warmth again, for the rest of his life.

He changed his mind.
He wanted the cover of anointing back.
But it had already been given to another who would never take it off.

If the King could of known the cause and effect of disobeying God,
what this "me" attitude would bring,
I'm sure he would have checked and double checked every square.

One sunny day, Princess Michal caught a glimpse of a fair haired hunk
entering the palace gate.
It was the handsome musician commissioned to entertain the King.
His name was "David."

Since that day,
she couldn't help but melt each time his name was mentioned.
The entire court talked about "David."
She was anxious to meet him face to face.
He doesn't even know I exist, thought Michal!

That night while her servants were preparing her for bed, they seemed too quiet.
"What is going on?"
"The Philistines, my lady. Their ultimate warrior giant,
"Goliath of Gath,"
well ... my lady, we are no match for him!
 It's been a stand-off, over a month now!"
"Come girls," said Michal, "let us pray."

The Country Boy

 DAVID
"Jesse, these are some great sons. Lets get to it. One of your sons will be the next King of Israel.
I have come to obey the  command of the Lord God to anoint him King."
As the magnificent 7 sons of Jesse, one by one stood before the great prophet Samuel,
he was puzzled. "Jesse none of these boys are the one, to be anointed, King of Israel!"
"Oh! I have one more son, the baby of the family."
" He is out sheep sitting!"
 "Well, go get him!!!"

As soon as this 17 year old stinky sheep herder, walked up, "God" spoke and said,
"this is the chosen one."

He who wrote poems and songs as he prayed in the pasture 3 thousand years ago,
his Psalms are still read today by millions.

Nearly all have heard the 23rd Psalm.

He who was  last to be picked for the team,
would establish an eternal throne, and be Israel's greatest champion.

He who learned to use a sling to protect sheep,

would use the same sling to kill the satanic  enemy of God, and save Israel.

Samuel
"prayed and poured,"
right there on the spot.
David's family just didn't get it! But Samuel did!
The anointing cover which Saul threw down
was instantly placed on "David."

After he was anointed, he continued the sameness.
But that all changed when his father Jesse sent him on an errand.

"Son, take this bread and cheese to your soldier brothers."
" King Saul has asked you to come again to the camp, and cheer him up with your singing."
"Come right back home."

At his arrival, handing the cheese to his brother,
he heard the giant devil make fun of "God," and "Israel!"

King Saul sent word back to Jesse," I'm keeping David with me. This boy is awesome!"

As David walked around the camp, he heard "guy" talk.
"Can you imagine the reward from the King, if any of us had the courage to fight him?"
"I heard, whoever whips this dude will marry the "Princess!"

 Goliath continued to taunt "Israel."
As a "Sacred Anger," welled up in David, he fearlessly stated "I got this!"
"Hold on little brother. Be still. Are you nuts?" His brothers tried to stop him.
"This boy shall wear MY armor," announced King Saul.
In a flash he was wearing the shiny royal suit of armor. And in a flash removed it!
"It is too heavy. I don't need it!'
David picked up five smooth stones, and put them in his pocket.
He ran with all his might to the valley.
As he ran toward "Goliath the giant, nothing in Hell, or on earth could stop him.

As the over- confident Godless giant,

 laughed at David,
laughed at God,
laughed at Israel.

"Am I a dog?"
"Don't you know who I am?"
"This is too easy, I need a real challenger, not some baby."
He cursed God.
"Little boy, I will feed you to the buzzards and mice."

David took a stone and put it in his sling.
"No!"
"This is the moment I will Kill you!"
"I will cut off your head."
"This battle is the Lord's!"

Swinging with the power of God!
Aiming with divine focus!
Shouting under the unction of the Holy Ghost!

"You come against me with a sword and a shield,
But I come against you in the Name of the Lord God of Israel!"

With a small smooth stone and a tiny slingshot,
David shot Goliath right between the eyes.
The stone sunk in, the giant enemy crashed face first to the ground.
 Goliath the Giant was dead.
As the stone sunk into his forehead, his soul sank into the eternal flames of Hell Fire.
David chopped off his big ol' head, and held it up.
The stunned army of God roared in victory.
Encouraged and fearless,
Israel won the battle!

 David became his nations,

"Super Hero."

King Saul wanted this brave young warrior in his army.  He wanted him in his royal court.

I love and praise you God!

David became his nations
 "Rock Star!"

When David wasn't fighting, he was singing for the King.

  Princess Michal ...
She was madly deeply in love with David.

Another battle ensued with the Philistines. "Israel" won. David the super hero. Again!
King Saul started to struggle with feelings of jealousy toward David, as some of the women chanted,
"Saul has killed his thousands, David his tens of thousands.
The kings heart began to turn against David. But David's love and respect for his King was constant.
Loyal to the highest degree. Surely he felt the King's coldness.
And sometimes King Saul's heart would turn back to David.

Princess Michal's heart  belonged to David from the moment she heard his name.
David never allowed himself to even ponder the possibility of such a love as" Her Royal Highness."
King Saul approached David on the the subject of "marriage" to his daughter.
David bowed low to the ground saying,
"Oh my King, how could you even consider one such as I to be your son-in-law?"
"I am most unworthy to even be asked."
"I am but a common, low class country boy."
She
"Her Royal Highness"
"Princess Michal!"
"Daughter of the KING Of Israel!"

As for "Michael," her hopes and dreams were coming true.
There are many women in the "Bible."
"Michal" is the only named woman scripture specifically states,
"fell in love," (romantic love) with a man.
 It was "David!"
Perhaps others "fell," but she is the only historical, biblical woman who is " named."
She was not an allegorical figure, like some in scripture. She was a real person.

But the King of Israel had an evil plan. He asked David for a "Bride price."
I want 100 Philistine warriors killed and proof they are dead.
The King really thought "David," would be killed.
Always going the second mile, David killed 200 warriors.
The country boy purposely paid double.
David wanted Michal!

The wedding date was set.

The occasion of a Royal Wedding
would be a grand celebration, far surpassing the nations previous weddings.
"David," The Godly Rock Star Warrior and Her Royal Highness "Princess Michal."
A true love story.

Everyone wanted a happy ending,
Except the King.
Sometimes he did.
Sometimes he didn't.

The Royal Wedding was on.
"Hang my locket around your neck, and wear my ring on your finger."
Song of Songs
8:6

The Wedding was all it should have been.
Garlands of flowers and people filled the city.
The "Lord's Army," in Full Dress uniform with shining swords held high.
Golden trumpets sounding.

The High Priest, The Prophet, The King and Queen
The entire nation of
"ISRAEL."

Promises
Vows

Presentation

The city celebrated, and the guests feasted at the Banquet table for days.

The Princess Bride and her Groom quietly made their way to the "Bridal Suite Royal."

She was his "First Time."
He was her "First Time."

"I'm going to write you a "love song," my "Bride!"
"How could such a miracle happen to me?"
"Where did you come from?"
"God knew I needed you."
"I was a lonely country boy, but look what the Lord has done."
He softly sang it to her, as they lay holding each other tight.
Nothing could ever take this "Wedding Night," away from them.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Diana"
The People's Princess

It was fifteen years ago today.
It still feels like someone kicked me in the gut, when I think about it. I don't like to think about it.
How could the most famous woman who ever walked on the face of the earth be dead?
The mother to the future King of Britain.
None of us could believe it.
All these years later, it is still so hard to believe.
Epic tragedy to the entire globe.
Everyone, from the those on "Death Row,"
to "Mother Theresa," were glued to the T.V.
It was the saddest time since J.F.K.'s untimely death,
in post modern history.
Why?
I really felt like I knew her. And so did you.
She was easy to love.

"Jessie's  Getting Married!"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey

Kristian introduced us to her sister "Jessica," six years ago.

The first time I met Jessica, she mentioned classic movies.
I think we talked 5 minutes without taking a breath.
When she said "Doris Day," movies were her favorite,
I knew Jessie was a very special young woman.

She has an uncommon grace and timeless beauty.

And now she is going to be married.
Richard is a very fortunate man.

"I Know!"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey
I assume, if your reading this,
you might be a preacher's wife.
I have been married to my love, 41 years.
He has been a "Bishop" most of these years.
Indeed, one of the congregations for 20  years.
Now working full time in non-profit disaster and famine relief.
I said all that, to say this,
"I do know what your going through."

I know! Being the wife of a "Preacher" is a dichotomy of sorts.
On one side of the coin, there's nothing better!

But on the other side, it can be bitter!
Think about it. Of all professionals,
 Doctor's, Lawyer's, Professor's, Banker's!
 The Preacher
is the only one who speaks for "God."
 It's not a "Profession!"
It's a "Calling!"

He and his family are scrutinized more than other families.
They live in a "Glass" house, on constant display.
99% are morally upright, as it should be,
but the world at large, the media,
seem to zoom-in on the 1%, who are not.

So "Preacher's Wife," you are something else!
You are married to:

"The Man!"

He is helping and pointing people to "God,"
 during life's darkest times,
 and life's greatest triumphs.

That makes you:

"The Woman!"
