Vocabulary suffered huge mishaps in my home town.
Indeed all home towns back in the day.
Most will not admit to it,
but we didn't call him "Santa Claus."
He was Sanny Claus!

Thank you to our mothers,
who considered it a necessity,
to have a picture made with Santa Claus,
no matter what!
I will never forget, as long as I live,
sitting in the back seat of our 1957 chevy,
admiring my shiny new candy apple red shoes.
As Daddy turned onto Park Drive, he asked,
"hey sissy, did you see that?"
"What Daddy?"
"Where?"
"Over there honey!"
"Didn't you see him?"
"He just went behind the trees."
I looked at mommy and whispered,
" Sanny Claus!"
