"Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep!"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey
I'm a penny pincher, but there are certain creature comforts,
of which I am glad to have placed my pennies.
Most of these involve the 5 senses in one way or another.
Lately I have had friends tell me they can't sleep.
It is a problem many deal with.
Hopefully this piece will inspire a good nights sleep.
1. Can a BED to be too big or too small?
Remember "Goldilocks & The Three Bears?"
It needs to be,
JUST RIGHT!
2. The most important piece
of the BED is the Mattress.
"You get what you pay for."
An old mattress is not comfortable.
3. A Dust Ruffle is both practical and beautiful.
Place it on top of the boxed springs under mattress.
4. A fitted Mattress Pad.
It will protect the mattress year round.
An electric mattress pad has duel controls,
like an electric blanket, and makes the BED
perfect during cold weather.
5. High thread count,
100% cotton Deep Pocket fitted
BED Sheet Set.
A good fit helps you sleep.
Washing sheets correctly is important.
Clean, lavender scented linens induce sleep.
6. Soft crunchy
white goose down BED Pillows.
7. Good quality, not too heavy,
8. High End Duvet Cover.
9. Coverlet or Quilt neatly folded
at the foot of the BED.
10. Please, no T.V. in the bedroom.
11. Allow some fresh air.
Open or crack the window
depending on weather.
12. Keep the bedroom
uncluttered, quiet and peaceful.
13. Keep it cozy.
14. Drink a bit of warm milk,
or a spot of "Sleepy Time" tea.
15. Eat a snack.
It is difficult to fall asleep if you're hungry.
16. Go to BED at the same time every night.
17. Say your prayers.
18. Wear comfy jammies.
19. Use lots of lotion and lip balm.
20. Get 8 hours of sleep.
Good Night!
