"Easter Basket"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey

I adored receiving an
 "Easter Basket,"
 every year of my childhood.
I think most of us did.
It has not changed.
 Children adore them still!

I was not impressed recently,
with hearing them being referred to as "Holiday Baskets!"
So now they want to take away our
"Easter Baskets?"
Don't think for one minute they can't do it!

We no longer have
"Easter Vacation!"
It's "Spring Break."

What's next?
"Holiday Sunday,"
"Holiday Egg Hunt,"
"Holiday Bunny?"

Making "Easter Baskets," is one of my greatest joys.
I've made so many,
I lost count a long time ago.
These days I still make them each year
 for my grandies.

Here's how to make the perfect
 "Easter Basket."

 An empty basket.
New or old, it makes no difference.

Fill basket with Easter grass.
It comes in beautiful colors.
I prefer green.

A soft and cuddly "Bunny Bun Bun!"

 Lots of "Easter Candy."
It is for the kids. It is okay on Easter.

A Milk Chocolate
 "Easter Bunny!"

"Peeps"

A stuffed wind -up
chirping, or hopping
"Chick,"
 or both!

"Easter Eggs."

A Bunny Book.
This one is my absolute favorite.

A tiny chenille "Baby Chick Chick!"

One "Golden Egg."

I think the majority of Americans grew up
knowing the Christian aspect of Easter.
"Jesus," arose from the dead on Easter.
 Easter was forever changed,
 from pagan to Christian
Acts 12: 4

The Egg became a Christian symbol of,
 The Holy Trinity.
The egg shell....The Father
The egg white.......The Son
The egg yolk......The Holy Ghost

The Basket represents
 "The Fruit of the Spirit!"

I better hide the baskets now,
here come the grandies!
