"Homey"
By, Cheryl Harwell Bailey

Baking = Home
Taste

"Have some butta and cream dear!"

I know women very much like myself.
We cannot stay in a hotel or hamlet for an hour,
without fluffing, cooking, or gardening
to make each space somehow homey.

Plants = Home!
Touch

I like getting my hands in the dirt.
I like painting old wicker.
I like to gussy up any porch.
I like to be outdoors.

I love it,
when family and friends ask me for help.
Then I say,
"Hey, let's tweak this a bit,
and bring it up to date!"
And away I go.....fluffing!

Family = Home

Fluffing = Home
Touch

Our treasured kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews,
 and dogs can cuddle, play, and enjoy our home.
 Nothing is off limits.
Our house is forever filled with the sound of little giggles!

Tea and Biscuits = Home
Taste

"Anne, do you have anymore
of your grandmother's china boxed up?
"Shall we spray paint this old lamp base to look
like mercury glass?"

It does not take money,
to bless all 5 of our
 God given senses.

Smell
A scented candle = Home

A soft throw or blanket for warmth = Home

A cup of tea.
Good music and reading books.
Especially the #1 best seller of all time!

Sound

I cannot express with mere words,
what "Home," means to me.
 Every good thing about our homes
 is only a prelude to what is coming
 in our forever home.
Yes, I know Heaven is for real!
I look forward to being there
with my precious loved ones.

Thank you Jesus!
