Summer Time Joy
2019
What a wonder filled Summer!
Randall and I kept the camera close at hand!
Grand dog,
"Weston" happily posing for the camera!
Sitting on the back deck after supper,
we want to stay!
The breeze is blessing us, as it plays music through the chimes.
It feels so good in these
record breaking temperatures.
The humming birds all have a favorite perch on which to land.
Perfect posture every time.
Tiny Purple Petunias
trailing down the porch rail.
trailing down the porch rail.
Just boil 3 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar,
2 minutes to dissolve.
Place in a container, and keep it in the fridge.
They will love you forever,
and return every Summer.
Be prepared to fill the feeders
on a constant basis!
She is staring at me.
She knows I will not harm her!
The full trees are still astonishing!
The squirrels are still begging.
Randall called me Rebecca today!
Rebecca Boone was Daniel Boones wife.
He calls me this every time I kill a poisonous bug, or a venomous snake. In this case it got a bit too close. We have a huge black snake who is used to me out back. It's not venomous. It does not bother me and and I don't bother it. It has it's place.
Our wild Trumpet vines.
They were full of Red Trumpet Flowers.
Can't wait to see them next summer!
The Hummers seem to know
today is the Fall Equinox.
They are putting on a live show, just for me!
Like clockwork,
one day soon they will follow the sun,
and return, right on schedule next year.
The deer have been on this land a long long time. This is not a great photo, but I wanted you to see our new darlings.
Cuttings from this years garden.
The daffodils are tissue thin delicate,
but dry beautifully!
It cost nothing to dry flowers!
I enjoy drying flowers.
The White Hydrangeas,
are from Conner and Erica's Wedding.
I made them a wreath for their home.
This years sweet scented "Potpourri"
is "French Lavender."
All that is required on my part, is to pick and clip the garden flowers, before they fade. Baskets, Bowls, Jars, etc. are perfect and pretty containers.
The women in my family,
cannot throw flowers away.
We try, we really do.
Beautiful dried wreaths, fragrant potpourri,
and bouquets fill our homes.
Precious memories of our gardens,
weddings, and seasons of life.
Our Grandmothers placed sentimental flowers between the pages of a book.

"French Lavender"
I still have the first corsage from my beloved
Randall, from 52 years ago.
hatched 6 weeks ago here on the deck.
