"Christmas Morning!"
Christmas Morning
2020
We were so blessed to wake up to soft falling snow. Yes, this is our home Christmas morning.
A Christmas gift to be sure!
Something I had never experienced as a child,
in sunny California.
By my generation,
the great depression was over,
the war was over.
We actually had an abundance of presents under the tree.
the great depression was over,
the war was over.
We actually had an abundance of presents under the tree.
They still do!
Most of us were allowed to open a gift
hand picked by mommy, before going to bed.
It was always, new jambies.
Tucked snugly in our beds,
we heard a story, and said ours prayers.
We were almost too excited to fall asleep.
Most of us were allowed to open a gift
hand picked by mommy, before going to bed.

Our girls are Christmas babies. Nothing in this world can top,
getting a Baby for Christmas!
Tucked snugly in our beds,
we heard a story, and said ours prayers.
We were almost too excited to fall asleep.
Our oldest granddaughter, Cailyn, is now a beautiful teenager!
We woke up at the crack of dawn,
running to wake our parents.
Fairly dragging them to the living room.
Always shocked to see exactly what we wanted
displayed in neat little sections.
All perfectly set up
where Santa had placed them.
My spot had a dolly
and her wardrobe case, full of cloths.
An aluminum stove with knobs and burners.
An ironing board, a baby buggy,
a bicycle, books, a locket.
Much more than I had asked Santa for.
Aunt Benny Ruth, holding my cousin Linda, me ironing, my brother Steve, and Uncle Kerry.
Christmas morning, 1956.
what I really wanted?
Long before time itself, God gave me exactly what I really wanted. So much more than I had asked him for, in my here and now, and in eternity.
